Cine en los barrios y El séptimo y otros tres: el cine más allá de las salas Desde hace veinte años, Cine en los barrios y la sección no competitiva El séptimo y otros tres, salen de las salas tradicionales, el primero con la proyección de películas para los habitantes de Cartagena más allá de sus murallas, extendiéndose también hasta lejanos rincones del departamento de Bolívar, y el segundo, como la expresión donde se conjuga el cine con otras artes. Con una serie de películas pertenecientes a la Selección Oficial del FICCI; cortometrajes del programa Laboratorios Vivos de la Gobernación de Bolívar, de la Cinemateca Rodante de la Cinemateca Distrital de Bogotá, películas de la Asociación Internacional de Films Animados –ASIFA-, cortos de BOGOSHORTS, Señal Colombia y del Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje –SENA-, entre otros, y la realización de ocho talleres en Soy Cine en los barrios: El lente en la gente, Cine en los barrios brinda a los habitantes y espectadores de diferentes lugares de Cartagena, el espacio para compartir el arte cinematográfico tanto desde su apreciación como desde la formación, de manera incluyente y participativa, creando lugares de encuentros para reflexionar acerca de otras realidades audiovisuales y distintas estéticas, locales, nacionales e internacionales. Así, público y realizadores interactúan en un diálogo y una relación diferente que fomenta el intercambio de conocimientos y vivencias en torno al audiovisual. A este programa se une la iniciativa Ruta 90, con la que Cine Colombia, el mayor exhibidor y distribuidor de cine del país, celebra sus 90 años de labores, llevando películas a 90 municipios del territorio nacional, y en Cartagena, a los sectores del Pozón, Nelson Mandela, Olaya y Villa Aranjuez. Gracias a las alianzas con la Gobernación de Bolívar, la Alcaldía de Cartagena de Indias, SuperGiros, Tecnológico Comfenalco y Fundación Tenaris Tubocaribe, estas actividades se mantienen durante todo el año a través de mega proyecciones y pantallas móviles. Todas las exhibiciones cuentan con el apoyo de la Policía Nacional, Armada Nacional, alcaldías locales, juntas de acción comunal y comunidad en general. El séptimo y otros tres En El séptimo y otros tres las diferentes artes dialogan entre sí, haciendo del cine una experiencia más allá de la pantalla. Fireworks, la video-instalación del director tailandés Apichatpong Weerasethakul es una obra que transmite sensaciones, donde la exploración sobre la luz es, una vez más, el centro de este trabajo que también habla de memoria y del tiempo. Por último está Actrices, la exposición y homenaje a la talentosa fotógrafa francesa Kate Barry, desaparecida prematuramente en diciembre de 2013 quien a través de su lente realizó una serie de retratos de actrices, en particular de cine francés, desde las más reconocidas hasta artistas de la joven generación. Esta exposición póstuma es posible gracias al apoyo del Institut Français y la Embajada de Francia, como parte de la celebración del Año Colombia Francia 2017. ------------ Cinema in the Neighborhoods and The Seventh and Three More: film beyond the movie theaters For the past twenty years, Cine en los Barrios (Cinema in the Neighborhoods) and the non-competitive section El séptimo y otros tres (The Seventh and Three More), have taken film beyond traditional movie theaters. The former screens movies for Cartagena city dwellers beyond the inner walled town, going as far as distant corners in the department of Bolivar. The latter provides a space where film and other forms of art can be combined. These programs will feature a series of movies in FICCI's official competition including short films in the Laboratorios Vivos (Living Laboratories) program, led by the Office of the Governor of Bolivar; short films from the archives of Cinemateca Distrital's Cinemateca Rodante (Cinematheque on Wheels); movies from the International Animated Film Association (ASIFA, for its acronym in French); short films from BOGOSHORTS, Señal Colombia and the National Apprenticeship Program (SENA, for its acronym in Spanish), among others; and eight workshops which will be carried out under the Soy Cine en los Barrios program. Focusing on people, Cine en los Barrios provides moviegoers and inhabitants from different areas of Cartagena a platform in which to share art, both in terms of appreciating it as well as creating it, being thus inclusive and participatory, creating spaces in which to reflect upon other audiovisual realities, as well as other local, national and international aesthetic forms. Hence, filmmakers and audiences will be able to interact through dialogue and establish a different relationship that fosters audiovisual knowledge and experience sharing. Ruta 90 (Route 90), an initiative created by Cine Colombia, the country's largest film distributor and exhibitor will also be part of this program. Cine Colombia will celebrate its 90th anniversary by bringing movies to 90 municipalities in Colombia, and to the areas of Pozon, Nelson Mandela, Olaya and Villa Aranjuez in Cartagena specifically. Thanks to a series of partnerships with the Office of the Governor of Bolivar, the Office of the Mayor of Cartagena, SuperGiros, Tecnologico Comfenalco and the Tenaris Tubocaribe Foundation, these activities will continue throughout the year through mega screenings and mobile screens. All exhibitions will be supported by the National Police, the National Navy, the offices of local mayors, community action boards and communities in general. The Seventh and Three More El séptimo y otros tres (The Seventh and Three More) provides a platform for different arts to dialogue with one another, transforming cinema into an experience that takes place beyond the movie screen. Fireworks, a video-installation created by Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul, is a piece that focuses on the exploration of light, a theme at the core of his work, as well as memory and time. Finally, the Actrices (Actresses) exhibition pays homage to the talented French photographer Kate Barry, who died a premature death in December 2013. Through her lens, Barry captured the portraits of several -mainly French- actresses, including world renowned actresses as well as emerging artists from a younger generation. This posthumous exhibition was made possible through the generous support of Institut Français and the Embassy of France to Colombia, in the context of the France and Colombia 2017 Cross-Year.
